These are two examples of photo montages. "Photo montage is the process and result of making a composite photograph by cutting and joining a number of other photographs. The composite picture was sometimes photographed so that the final image is converted back into a seamless photographic print."
In my work i have gone to Roberts park and taken picture after picture of the surrounding environment, i have then put them together on planes to create the surrounding environment in my work, i have used a montage style of art to do this. Below is a picture of how i have done this.

These are some of my sketches that i have done there is a perspective some sketches of lion and Roberts park and there is a mood board of saltaire. There is also a few ideas for the logo for a temporary team name we had before we decided on red hawk for the name.

Reflection Questions
·       What did you do and how did you do it?
I designed 4 different GUI's (Graphical User Interface) i sketched the first 2, the 3rd one i made on Photoshop and the 4th i made in flash. i tried to create a different looking one every time i made one to experiment which was the best.
·       Does your final design meet your original intentions?
My final design does meet my original intentions as my intention was to make different designs and try make them all look quite different and i think they all look pretty different.
·       Self evaluation – how did you manage your time? How could you manage your time more effectively?
I managed my time by i had 3 weeks to make the 4 GUIs so one week i did the sketch ones, then the next week i made a GUI on Photoshop and then the final week of the three made a GUI on flash.
·       What did you struggle with? E.g. sketches, flash, photoshop
didn't struggle with much of the aspects as i am comfortable with my sketches and i am also comfortable using flash and Photoshop.
If i was to choose which one i found the hardest i would say flash as  it is the program that i am less comfortable with.
·       What did you find easy?
I found most of the aspects of the work generally simple, i think the hardest part of the task was coming up with different ideas.
·       How does your finished design compare to professional examples?
My finished design is not as good as professional examples as it is simplified where as some guis are more complex and have different layers that pop out when you press certain buttons.
·       What do other people think of your finished design?
Other people think my work is quite good, one student called Lewis Corcoran gave my work 4.5 stars out of 5. He said he thought my work was of high standard.
·       What could you improve upon?
If i was to improve on anything then i would try put more detail into my sketches as i feel that that is my weakest area.
·       If you were to do it again what would you do differently next time?
If i was to do it again I don't think i would do much differently as overall i am generally happy with my end product and final work. I would maybe put a bit more detail into the sketches but apart from that i feel i have done the best to my ability.
·       It’s not about the finished product, it’s about the journey. What did you learn?
didn't really learn so much doing this task as i knew most things about guis as i play games quite a lot and i knew how to use most of the software. If there was one thing i did learn it would be that sometimes simple guis are sometimes the best even if they don't have a lot you can do on them for example the fifa 12 GUI.
